Senior Payments Specialist

About the role...

Salary: Dependent on experience + competitive benefits package

The role is based within the Operations Team who ensure: all international payments are managed and released according to regulatory requirements; global bank accounts are monitored, maintained and funded to facilitate payments and client funds are segregated and safeguarded.

The Senior Payments Specialist is responsible for supervising the day-to-day running of the US Payments Team, maintaining a high level of accuracy and ensuring all daily tasks are delivered within a timely manner.

  • Supervise the day-to-day running of the US Team
  • Assist in all daily activities including processing of inbound funds and releasing of international payments
  • Receive, log and ensure there is a timely response and resolution to all complex queries
  • Track and delegate all support tickets, ensuring they are dealt within internal and external SLA’s
  • Training new joiners to the team, furthermore coaching and supporting them with development requirements
  • Work seamlessly with our UK Payments Team handing over and managing workloads across time zones
  • Support our Customer Support Team with any client queries and BAU requests
  • Ensure service provided is to a high standard and make recommendations to improve and streamline processes and interactions to the Head of Operations or VP Operations
  • Help specify projects, working with both Product/Tech Teams to set out requirements and making sure all risks/assumptions are understood and edge cases captured and handled
  • Work with Payments Team globally to ensure smooth implementation of projects
  • Lead continuous improvement activity - tracking system/process issues and driving root cause analysis /resolution in the medium term, understanding balance and compromise between quality and speed
  • Have a continuous understanding of AML, KYC, OFAC and sanctions - applying this knowledge and awareness to all daily activities
  • Understand and comply to internal safeguarding processes to ensure client funds are segregated
  • Complete any other ad hoc duties as required
What skills & experience do I need?

This position would suit an experienced individual who is interested in working within a start up environment

You must be able to demonstrate experience of: processing both local and international payments within an FX payments company, bank or broker and / or a company that uses banking platforms. It would be beneficial if you have experience with high volume daily payments processing, completing daily reconciliations and understanding how regulatory requirements impact our business.

Are there any other desirable attributes?
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in excel and be comfortable using an apple mac computer
  • Have a meticulous and thorough approach and very high attention to detail
  • Excellent team working skills, ability to manage own workload and great attention to detail
  • Be able to deliver against time pressured deadlines
  • To be flexible in the hours worked to support other regions, should the need arise
  • Be articulate, numerate, organised, hard working and able to build excellent relationships
  • Be able to manage own workload and be a completer finisher
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Have an interest in the payments, financial services, technology or FX industry
