Currencycloud is a technology start up with 150 people based in London (HQ), New York and Ukraine. We are impressively backed having raised $61M from investors including GV (Google Ventures), Sapphire Ventures (SAP) and Rakuten. We process $15bn a year across 5 million payments and we are growing at +100% a year. Our customers include a wide range of startups (Seedrs, Azimo, Revolut) as well as established firms (Travelex, Standard Bank, Hyundai) across the world. What they have in common is the desire to facilitate cross border payments via an API solution. 

About the role...

We are looking for VP Marketing to help shape the future of the company. The mandate is to mature our marketing function from that of a startup to a much larger company. The right person must understand how to automate and optimise the acquisition journey for smaller clients, while implementing account based marketing programmes to bring in larger clients. They will also own our PR and content strategies and will need to be a great storyteller. The team is currently 8 people across London and New York. 

In addition, the person will be a key player in the leadership team, helping to set the tone and culture of the organisation. We are looking for someone who has got massive amounts of emotional intelligence, and the ability to integrate our brand into our culture. 

This position will report into the CMO & Head of Product.

The Details…

Marketing

  • Differentiate our brand through thought leadership, PR and a multi-channel marketing strategy, positioning Currencycloud as a next generation technology leader
  • Really understand our customers, to identify and target growth opportunities in new and existing client target markets
  • Develop our digital strategy, with a focus on using social and content to drive inbound lead flow and building website capabilities to smooth the acquisition journey
  • Develop a world class events strategy
  • Run campaigns to attract prospects to Currencycloud, develop their profiles and nurture them through the funnel until they are ready to be passed to a salesperson
  • Develop effective tools, including online and offline collateral, to help sales people warm and close deals
  • Drive customers swiftly through the implementation process to increase speed to revenue
  • Identify initiatives to expand relationships with customers and drive loyalty
  • Work closely with Product and Banking to effectively describe our product and produce technical documentation
  • Develop a culture of analysis and constant learning, quickly iterate on approaches to market and find the optimal way of doing things
  • Lead a team of eight marketers based in London and New York

Corporate

  • Represent marketing on the Corporate Strategy and Corporate Operations teams
  • Ensure that our brand permeates through the organization by championing our values and ways of working
  • Own our internal communications strategy
What skills & experience do I need?
  • Experience in an international and B2B marketing leadership role, ideally in a technology company, with ownership of the full suite of marketing functions
  • Brilliant team leadership – the ability to inspire and develop a team of marketing professionals across multiple geographies
  • Strategic thinking – the ability to craft a clear direction for the marketing function, and develop the capabilities you need in the team to successfully growth the company
  • Strong analytical skills and have an awareness of the importance that decisions will have on the overall success of the business

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills needed for our dynamic environment
