Developers and hackers: the time has come to code the solution of your dreams. Currencycloud has teamed up with some of the best and most creative API-led UK start-ups for the API Innovation Challenge Hackathon. Meet and partner with like-minded developers and designers to build the application that will change the future of payments as we know it.

  2. Decide if you want to create or join a team via our Meetup or fly solo.
  3. Start developing your prototype (you can do this once you have recieved platform access to our partner APIs)

The API Innovation Challenge

On offer are a range of APIs to develop against from some of the best API-led UK start-ups around today. Please note that participants are not limited to the sole use of these APIs but are encouraged to integrate some of them into their solution.

The solution/application should fall into one of the following categories:

  • Web 2.0 (mobile, voice rec, big enterprise social)
  • Financial services (banking, trading, lending, investing, etc)
  • Personal finance
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Big Data / Machine Intelligence

You’ll get platform access one week prior to the Hackathon in order to plan and prepare for the final 12 hour of onsite development at Campus London, a Google space.

And don’t forget to take advantage of the APIs available to you, or to pick the brains of our onsite mentors to create the next big thing in payments innovation.

Eligibility and Team Size

We welcome undergraduates, graduates and professionals. If participants wish to form teams, these should include a minimum of 2 people and maximum of 4 people. Teams should be formed in advance as all projects should be initiated up to one week prior to and completed during the Hackathon itself.

Code of conduct

We are committed to diversity, equality and inclusivity. We believe in providing a positive, enjoyable experience for everyone involved in our Hackathon, free from harassment, regardless of age, nationality, gender, religion and expertise. We do not tolerate harassment of Hackathon participants in any form.

Hackathon participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the competition at the discretion of the Hackathon organisers.
